Special train from Darbhanga on October 15 for Sufi Circuit tour
PATNA: The Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) has offered a seven-day Sufi Circuit tour package from Darbhanga covering destinations like Lucknow, Delhi, Ajmer, Agra and Fatepur Sikri.
As part of the package, a special train will depart from Darbhanga at 10.30am on October 15 and reach its originating station after completing the tour at 8pm on October 22.
One can avail the offer by spending Rs 7,560.
A K Jha, a senior IRCTC official, said the train would cover important ‘dargahs’ and historical sites located in Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, Delhi and Rajasthan.
“Pilgrims can visit important sites like the Red Fort, Nizamuddin Dargah, Jama Masjid and Qutb Minar in Delhi; Ajmer Sharif Dargah in Rajasthan and Taj Mahal, Agra Fort and Fatepur Sikri in Agra during the seven-night and eight-day journey. The IRCTC will make necessary arrangements for the comfortable stay of tourists at various dhramshalas,” Jha said, adding the tourists will be served breakfast and vegetarian meals during the journey.
The package cost of Rs 7,560 includes travel by second class sleeper, stay at different dharmashalas and free transportation by special buses. The IRCTC has started selling tickets for the journey at Darbhanga station. Booking for the tour package can also be done online on IRCTC Tourism website – irctctourism.com.
Cross girder launch: The railways has decided to restrict movement of some passenger trains, including Patna-Jasidih passenger (63208), Muzaffarpur-Sealdah passenger (53132) and Mokama-Howrah passenger (53050) for half-an-hour to one hour every Sunday between Mankhata and Barhaiya stations under Danapur division of the ECR due to cross girder launch exercise from September 2 to October 7, ECR chief public relations officer (CPRO) Rajesh Kumar said.
Revenue boost for ECR: The ECR registered a record loading of 45.26 million tonnes of goods from April to July this year and earned revenue of Rs 6,042.29 crore during these four months. Railways penalised 2,519 people for dirtying its premises at different places in the ECR zone and realised Rs 33,500 as fine from them, the CPRO said, adding railways earned Rs 41.33 crore from ticket checking drive during the period.
