Lack of rain hits farmers in Nawada
NAWADA: State chief secretary Deepak Kumar, principal secretary of agriculture department Sudhir Kumar and commercial taxes secretary Pratima S Kumar visited Nawada on Sunday to assess drought-like situation in the district.
Nawada has recorded just 16% paddy transplantation due to inadequate monsoon rainfall in the district this year. Local BJP MP and Union minister of state for medium, small and micro enterprises Giriraj Singh had submitted a memorandum to the chief secretary in this regard.
Meanwhile, residents of Birhori village under the Akbarpur police station area in the district, where the chief secretary had gone to inspect the progress of CM’s seven resolves, had complained about inadequate electricity supply and rusted overhead wires, which posed a threat to the lives of people.
