BENGALURU:
Davanagere city police are hunting for a pig and its owner after the animal attacked a 48-year-old
waterman recently.
Police said they registered a case on Thursday on a complaint from
Manjunatha, 48, a resident of Jalinagar in Davanagere and a waterman with
Davanagere CMC, who was attacked and seriously injured by the pig.
In the early hours of September 1,
Manjunath was on his duty and a pig attacked him.
The animal bit his both thighs and private parts. Manjunath was rushed to a government hospital. He was discharged on Thursday.
"We have registered a case against the owner of the pig under the provision of IPC section 289 (Negligent conduct with respect to animal. We are searching for the pig and will find out the owner once we trace it," a police officer said.
