BUXAR: Union minister Ravi Shankar Prasad laid the foundation stone for an extension centre of the National Institute of Electronics and Information Technology (NIELIT) here on Thursday.
“The centre will help stem migration of students from the district to other states as they will find employment opportunities here,” the minister said. He thanked Buxar DM Raghvendra Singh for making one acre of land available near ITI Maidan here for the construction of the centre.
Deputy CM Sushil Kumar Modi said the centre would offer several digital courses for the benefit of the youth of the region.

Buxar MP and Union minister of state for health and family welfare Ashwini Kumar Choubey said the NIELIT centre would be constructed with an expenditure of over Rs 100 crore.
The Centre has targeted to complete the project within three years. The students will be trained in various courses like multimedia, internet, repair of electronic gadgets and computer technique.
