Telangana: Man stabbed to death in suspected honour killing in Nalgonda

HYDERABAD: In a suspected case of honour killing, a newly married man was stabbed to death in front of his wife outside a hospital in Miryalaguda town of Nalgonda district on Friday. The incident created tension in the town.
According to the police, Rahul (name change), the deceased had married Priyanka (name changed) about six months ago. It was a love marriage and some of the relatives were against the wedding as the couple belonged to different castes.
On Friday, Rahul brought his wife to a private hospital for check-up.
The couple was returning from the hospital when an unidentified person, who was waiting outside the hospital gate, suddenly pounced on Rahul.
The attacker stabbed Rahul twice in the neck leading to severe loss of blood. Rahul collapsed on the spot and died.
All this happened in the presence of Priyanka. A severely shocked and scared Priyanka ran away fearing that she too would be killed.
The police are analysing the footage of CCTV cameras in the vicinity to identify the attacker. It is suspected that one of the relatives of Priyanka was behind the murder. Miryalaguda police registered a case and formed special teams to arrest the accused.
