AWPL opens natural fibre garment and accessories concept at Sydney Airport

AUSTRALIA. Specialist travel retailer AWPL has opened a natural fibre garment and accessories store at Sydney Airport Terminal 2.

Textilis is a new concept and gets its name from the Latin word meaning ‘woven’ or ‘braided’. The store offers a range of luxury natural fibre products including Australian merino and sheepskin, silk, and bamboo fibre.

New concept: Textilis brings together natural fibre products from Australian and New Zealand brands.

AWPL said the store was intended to evoke “an experience of time, introducing customers to the ancient connection between natural fibres and humanity by presenting garments and accessories which are desired and sought after in today’s modern world”.

The store aesthetic aims to offer a sense of comfort and luxury, AWPL said. Textilis has been built using locally sourced natural fibres and woods, adding to the feeling of Sense of Place at Sydney Airport, according to the retailer.

AWPL wanted to convey a sense of comfort and luxury for travellers at the store.

“We are thrilled to launch Textilis with our trusted partners at Sydney Airport,” said AWPL Merchandise Manager (Apparel) Simon Buckle. “Our commitment is to enrich our customers’ experience at every touchpoint.

“Textilis provides customers convenient access to a wide range of beautiful products from Sydney-, Australia-, and New Zealand-based brands including Charlie Middleton, Smitten, Shovava, Untouched World, Icebreaker, and more.”
