Aleah Kranson rang up six goals and Christine Kosco finished with two goals and four assists as Wyoming Area hammered Hanover Area, 10-0, in a high school girls soccer match Monday.

Less than 18 minutes into the game, Kranson had a hat trick and added three more goals in the second half.

Kosco got the scoring started with a goal 21 seconds into the game and also scored the opening goal of the second half four minutes in to extended Wyoming Area’s lead to 5-0. She later added her final two assists, while Kranson also wound up with a pair of assists.

Tierney Porfirio assisted on a goal and scored the final one to close the scoring for the Warriors.

Abby Thompson made 15 saves for Hanover Area.

BOYS SOCCER

Lake-Lehman 4, Holy Redeemer 0

Max Paczewski had a goal and an assist in the first half and the Black Knights limited Redeemer to eight shots in the victory.

Abe Dabsheh hit the first goal less than three minutes in to get Lehman rolling.

H.S. GOLF

Lake-Lehman 145, Berwick 165

Bobby Lugiano went 1-over with a 35 to lead the Black Knights past Berwick in a tight match.

Tanner Harry shot a 36 to boost Lehman, while Zach Evans led Berwick with a 38.

Crestwood 165, Valley West 188

Jeremy Harper was 1-over par with a 37 to lead the Comets to victory.

Evie Williams finished with a 40 in the win, while Danny Polacheck topped the Spartans with a 43.

Wyoming Sem 163, Hanover Area 197

Jeremy Callahan and Harrison May both carded a 38 as the Blue Knights edged the Hawkeyes.

Kyleen McCance led Hanover Area with a 44.

GIRLS VOLLEYBALL

Berwick 3, Crestwood 0

Karley Hower served 17 points, Katie Spencer made 17 digs and the Bulldogs swept a 25-15, 27-27, 25-15 victory.

Natalie Blockus made eight kills and served 10 points in the victory.

Melanie Golden finished with eight assists and five service points for the Comets, while Makayla Brislin had six service points and five assists.

Nanticoke Area 3, Meyers 0

Rayza Ruiz made nine kills and served 11 aces to lead the Trojanettes to a 25-6, 25-10, 25-11 victory.

Jilann Baron also had nine kills and Rielly Miller finished with 18 assists in the win.

Da-Nayia Ballard had five kills for the Mohawks.

Tunkhannock 3, Lake-Lehman 0

Jess Salus made five kills and served 10 points for Lehman in a 25-15, 25-10, 25-15 defeat to the Tigers.

WVW cancels 3 games

With rain in the forecast all afternoon, the Wyoming Valley West athletic department cancelled three sporting events on Monday — a home field hockey game against Hazleton Area, a home girls tennis match against Holy Redeemer and a home boys soccer game against Tunkhannock.

Make-up dates have yet to been announced.

Former Coughlin standout and senior captain Kelsey Gabriele scored the game-winning goal with 4:02 remaining in overtime to lift the Monarchs to victory.

The score came when Kelley O’Keefe sent in a cross from the right side in front of the cage that Gabriele got a stick on and knocked in for the win.
