St. Francis wine dinner

A St. Francis wine dinner is planned for 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 19, at The Shores Resort & Spa, 2637 S Atlantic Ave., Daytona Beach Shores.

The four-course dinner menu created by the Shores’ award-winning culinary team of Executive Chef Devin Gainor and Sous Chef Patrick Ian Ransom will feature wines with Kobrand representative church Richards as guest speaker. Cost is $75-plus.

Organic wine tasting

Organic wines are featured every Wednesday at a free tasting from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. at Heath's Natural Foods, 600 E. Third Ave., New Smyrna Beach. Wines from all around the globe will be available.

Consultant Elaine DeJesus will be on hand as you sample organic, biodynamic, no sulfates added and sustainably grown wines.

Wine tasting and dinner

Wine Bourbon and Art

The Museum of Art-DeLand Guild will host Wine Bourbon and Art, an evening of fine sensory experience from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 20, at MOA-DeLand, 600 N. Woodland Blvd.

Explore wines from around the world or experience craft bourbons. Hors d’oeuvres and sweet sensations will be served. Cost is $25 per person. Live music will be provided by Eric Hall.

Five wines to sample

Sample five wines at the weekly wine tasting from 5 to 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 20, with wine sommelier Mark Chappell at 95 and Vine, 1665 Dunlawton Ave., Port Orange.

Yappy Hour wine tasting

Ormond Outpost. 1385 U.S. 1, will host a special Yappy Hour wine tasting event for local residents and their canine friends from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday, Sept. 21, to benefit Sophie’s Circle Dog Rescue, a local nonprofit and Volusia County's only pet food pantry.

The event will feature a variety of wines from around the world to taste for free, provided by S.R. Perrott, as well as large selection of wine for purchase, $2 beers and food from Fatboyz Couch Potatoes food truck.

Jazz and Jambalaya in Palm Coast

The Palm Coast Arts Foundation will host Jazz and Jambalaya on Saturday, Sept. 22, under the Big Top tent at PCAF Park, 1500 Central Ave. Dinner begins at 6 p.m. while Longineu Parsons and his Jazz Ensemble will perform from 7 to 9 p.m.

Tickets are $50 for PCAF members and $60 for general public. The buffet dinner, catered by World Plate Catering, will include bistro salad, shrimp creole, smothered pork roast, Cajun chicken, jambalaya, cornbread, butterscotch bread pudding and lemon bars.

Wine & Beer Festival

The Wine & Beer Festival returns to the Hilton Daytona Beach Oceanfront Resort, 100 N Atlantic Ave., from 2 to 5 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 6. Tickets are $49 per person with 10 percent of the ticket price going to the Boys & Girls Clubs of Volusia/Flagler.

Local sponsors such as SR Perrott, Southern Beverages, and Daytona Beverages will take over Doc Bales’ Patio and the Oceanview Room to give Daytona a taste of the world’s best wines and the area’s outstanding craft breweries, including Central 28, Tomoka Brewery and the Daytona Beach Brewing Company.

The festival’s international wine selection will feature fine bottles of Chateau Chatain Montagne-St.-Emilion from Bordeaux, Mairena Sauvignon Blanc from Mendoza and Kim Crawford wines from New Zealand, among others. Premium spirits and a selection of craft beers from other parts of Florida and beyond also will be on offer.

Attendees are encouraged to bring their appetites — carving, dessert and chocolatiers stations will provide sweet and savory chef-inspired selections. From short ribs, pasta and seafood to an assortment of cheeses, chocolates and even a banana foster flambe station, there will be plenty of food and beverage pairings to satisfy any palate.

A special hotel room package is available for festival attendees. Guests can purchase raffle tickets for a chance to win $150 in Pevonia products or one of the two gift certificates for an hour-long massage.
