Sushil Kumar Modi opens projects worth Rs 32.85 crore in West Champaran

BAGAHA: Deputy chief minister Sushil Kumar Modi on Wednesday inaugurated four rural schemes at Jagdishpur, Ranipur--Rampurawa, Auraiya and Ghogha Ghat of Bettiah sub-division in West Champaran district under Bihar State Water and Sanitation Mission (Nir Nirmal Pariyojana).
The projects entailing a combined outlay of Rs 32.85 crore, aims at providing potable water supply connection to each rural household through pipe from the water tower.

He added that the state government will provide a sum of Rs 12 crore as community contribution for giving free tap water connection under the scheme.
Modi said the beneficiaries of Nir Nirmal scheme would be given free tap water connection similar to the ‘Har Ghar Jal’, scheme under the seven resolves of the state government. PHED minister Vinod Narayan Jha accompanied the deputy CM. He narrated the details of rural water supply and sanitation project launched by the Central government.
The deputy chief minister reiterated the state government’s commitment and enumerated several rural schemes like crop damage compensation for farmers, chief minister transport schemes for scheduled caste and backward castes, student credit card among others.
MPs Satish Chandra Dubey (Valmikinagar), Sanjay Jaiswal (West Champaran), and BJP MLAs Bhagirathi Devi (Ramnagar), Narayani Sah (Nautan), Prakash Rai (Chanpatia), BJP Bettiah unit president Ganga Pandey, Renu Devi ( national vice president ) and others BJP workers were also present on the occasion.
SuMo was at West Champaran on a two- day visit. Members of west Champaran chapter of All India Journalist Security Committee led by Mohan Singh Sriniwash Gautum also met the SuMo and submitted three points demand, including security to life and property of journalists in Bihar.
