Denouncing politics of appeasement, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday said that the NDA government does not believe in making schemes for any particular vote bank in order to win elections.

Virtually launching BJP’s election campaign in poll-bound Chhattisgarh, PM Modi said that the people of the state are mature enough to elect a stable government.

"Programmes and policies framed by my government are for benefit of all, not targeted at a particular vote bank," PM Modi said while addressing a rally in Janjgir–Champa.

PM Modi said that the BJP is committed to make a Chhattisgarh which is in line with the aspirations of the youth of the state. He also recounted how his government has changed the lives of the poor people through schemes like Ujjwala.

The prime minister said that his government is aiming to provide every person with a home by the year 2022. Talking about the steps taken by the government for the farmers, PM Modi said that  through technological interventions, welfare of farmers is being insured by the government.

Measures like Soil health Cards and Fasal Bima Yojana are benefiting the farmers immensely, he said.

PM Modi pointed out that Chhattisgarh, as on today, was among the most developing states of India and reminded  that it was former prime minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee who had created the  three states of Uttarakhand, Jharkhand and Chhattisgarh.

He added that it is due to the vision of Vajpayee that all these states are progressing rapidly.

The prime minister said the only objective of the BJP-led governments at the Centre and in Chhattisgarh was the welfare of the poor and the common people.

"Despite allegations, rumours and misinformation, people of Chhattisgarh have been giving stable governments," he said.

Modi said Chhattisgarh was known for violence by Naxals, explosion and bloodshed, and the BJP government has overcome all these challenges.

"Chhattisgarh has created its own place among the states which are on the path of development," he said.

The prime minister said the central government will ensure that power connection is given to each home across the country under the Saubhgya Yojana.

Modi also said Chhattisgarh has changed the perception that smaller states suffer from political instability.

The prime minister said the NDA government did not believe in making schemes for vote bank or to win elections.

"Programmes and policies framed by my government are for benefit of all, not targeted at a particular vote bank," he said.

Modi also said the BJP wants to create a new, modern Chhattisgarh and "we are moving ahead with the mission of Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas".

Earlier, PM Modi laid the foundation stone for the Rs 1697.79 crore Bilaspur-Anuppur Third Rail Track Project in Bilaspur-Anuppur section of South East Central Railway in Janjgir–Champa. The 152 km rail route runs for 119.55 km in Chhattisgarh and 32.45 km in Madhya Pradesh. This track will not only ease passenger services but also augment coal transportation of SECL for its mines in Raigarh and Mand areas, an official said.

The state Assembly elections in Chhattisgarh are likely to take place by the end of this year.
