CHHAPRA:
Saran district has achieved 87% of the target till August 2018 with regard to creating job opportunities under MNREGA followed by Siwan (58%) and Gopalganj (57%) in
Saran division.
This was informed by regional deputy director, public relations department, G Prakash, after a meeting of non-technical officers of Saran division chaired by Saran divisional commissioner Narmadeshwar Lal on Saturday.
The commissioner directed the officials concerned to speed up activities under MNREGA to provide jobs to youth, so that migration from the districts can be checked. He also asked the officials concerned to write to the district magistrates to provide land for construction of building for those anganwadi centers which are running from rented accommodations.
Lal expressed concern over completion of only 5,582 dwellings against the target of 31,516 under the Pime Minister Gramin Awas Yojna and directed the officials concerned to achieve the target soon. He also reviewed the progress under
Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan. and said Saran district has achieved sixth place in the state in providing tap water to each of the dwellings while Siwan stood at 18th and Gopalganj at 31st position.
Likewise, Saran has secured 24th place in construction of PCC streets and drains, followed by Siwan (34th) and Gopalganj districts (36th). The divisional commissioner also directed the health officials to keep the hospital premises clean and has alerted them that he would make surprise visits to these premises soon.
