It was UP calling for actress Tanishaa Mukerji, who recently did a tree plantation drive in Amroha, (around 400 kms from Lucknow ). Telling us about the initiative, she says, "I have a tree plantation NGO where we believe in healing our environment and leaving a greener stamp on earth for our future generations. These days our kids are getting very sick because of the pollution in the atmosphere.
According to a report, India is among one of the countries with the least amount of tree cover. We have barely 33 percent of the tree cover. The whole idea is to increase this tree cover area in our country."
She adds, "We now are planning to go to the school level and educate children and encourage them to plant trees. We also want to beautify gardens on an international level. There are a total of four people working for the cause which also includes my mother Tanuja and politician Tarun Rathi and his wife. We chose Amroha as a city for the initiative as Tarun is from that place."

Quite eager to visit several other cities of UP, Tanishaa says, "Amroha is the first city that I have explored in UP. I have been wanting to come to Lucknow. I have heard so much about Lucknow from Ajay (Devgn). When he was shooting for 'Raid', I seriously wanted to come to Lucknow. I have heard about Lakhnawi food, especially the yummy kebabs, from Ajay."
Not seen much after her 'Bigg Boss' stint, ask Tanishaa what’s happening on the acting front and she says, "I have recently done a short film, which is travelling to several film festivals. I keep getting offers for fiction for TV but I am not looking forward to work in serials though I have done two reality shows – 'Fear Factor...Khatron Ke Khiladi' and 'Bigg Boss'. TV serials require a lot of dedication."
