SECUNDERABAD: The Secunderabad Cantonment assembly constituency, a seat reserved for Scheduled Caste (SC) candidates, is set to see an increase of 10,000 voters.
A total of 2.3 lakh voters had already been enrolled in the voters' list during the 'Intensive Electoral Revision' (IER) held last year.
"We have received an immense response from the applicants to enrol their names in the voters' list, due to massive publicity.
By the close of last date for receiving the enrolment forms, we have received nearly 14,000 Voter ID application forms requesting addition of names, correction, deletion and shifting of names to other areas, change of location of polling stations," a senior SCB election wing official told TOI.
The final voters' list will be published on October 8 and will be on display in the SCB main office and circle offices. Voters can collect their voter ID cards on the same day from mee Seva or e-Seva centres in Secunderabad upon payment of a nominal fee. A proposal to upload the entire voters' list on the SCB's official portal is also under consideration.Newly added voters can also visit Election Commission's portal to check their names, the official said.
