UP: Mob shoots burglar to death in Firozabad

AGRA: A man who allegedly broke into a locked house along with his two associates in Madhavganj of Shikohabad police jurisdiction, Firozabad district was shot dead by a mob on Tuesday early morning.
The deceased was identified as Deepak Yadav (29), a resident of Achalda town in Auraiya district. According to police, Deepak was running a hotel business with his partner Jitendra Jaatav at NH-2 close to Budha village of Shikohabad.

Superintendent of police, (rural) Mahendra Kumar, said, “Deepak along with his two associates allegedly broke into Kusum Devi’s house, who had gone to her son Chandra Kant’s home one block away to celebrate her grandson Aryan’s birthday.
At around 3.45am when Deepak along with his two associates was attempting to flee the house with stolen valuables, few neighbours spotted them and raised alarm. Panicked by gathering crowd, the three burglars fired shots at crowd, in retaliation the neighbours of Kusum Devi also fired shots and Deepak was killed.”
After the incident, the two associates of Deepak fled away on his motor-bike, said police.
According to sources, Deepak was shot three bullets including one at chest. “He was caught by residents and was lynched. Bullets were shot from point-blank range.”
Station house officer of Shikohabad, Vijay Gautam said, “There were two bullet injury signs on Deepak’s body. His body has been sent for postmortem. Based on Kusum Devi’s relative an FIR of burglary has been lodged against deceased Deepak and his two unknown associates who are currently absconding.”
Deepak is said to be a lone child of his parents. He was married one and a half-year-ago and had a six-month-old kid.
