DMCH junior doctors protest attack on colleague

DARBHANGA: Medicare services in Darbhanga Medical College and Hospital (DMCH) were disrupted since Wednesday after junior doctors boycotted work to protest the assault of a medico by some youths of Bhatiari Sari Mohalla under Town police station. They are demanding immediate arrest of the culprits.
The incident happened on Tuesday evening when a girl student of the college was allegedly harassed by some youths at Karpoori Chowk.
The girl informed her classmates about the incident who immediately went to settle the scores with the youths. Later, on Wednesday, two medicos of the college were attacked by some youths while they were passing through Sari Mohalla on a bike. Though the pillion rider managed to flee, the student riding the bike was severely assaulted.
SDPO and Sadar SDO visited the college on Thursday and assured the students that the offenders will be arrested soon. The agitating students also demanded to install two entry gates for the hospital and round-the-clock security.
