Suspected swine flu case in Kakinada
KAKINADA: One person was admitted in the Government General Hospital on Sunday with suspected swine flu, M Raghavendra Rao, the hospital’s superintendent said.
Rao told TOI that the patient, Bathula Rambabu, a resident of Thammavaram in Kakinada rural mandal, had been suffering from fever from September 26 after returning from Tirupati.
Rambabu had been under treatment at a private hospital before being shifted to the GGH with suspected swine flu symptoms, Rao said.

Rao said it is not possible to conduct Real-Time Polymerase Chain Reaction (RT PCR) test to confirm the swine flu as the patient had already been under treatment for the past five days. Describing the patient’s condition as “stable”, he said Rambabu was under an oxygen tent and would be put on a ventilator if necessary.
