Brajesh Thakur to be shifted to Buxar jail

MUZAFFARPUR: IG (prison) Mithilesh Mishra on Wednesday ordered to shift the prime accused of the infamous Muzaffarpur shelter home rape case, Brajesh Kumar Thakur, to Buxar Central Jail from Shahid Khudiram Bose Central Jail, Muzaffarpur.
The IG also directed the authorities of the Muzaffarpur jail to shift other 14 persons who were arrested in the case to Model Central Jail at Beur, Patna.
The senior official said the move has been initiated on CBI’s request. “I got a request from the CBI to shift Thakur and other accused to some other jail. Hence, we have decided to shift them,” he said.
Meanwhile, CBI sources said they were facing certain difficulties in inquiring the case at the local level and hence the state government’s concerned department was requested to shift all the arrested accused to some other jail.
Altogether, 15 persons have been arrested so far in the shelter home rape case, which came to the light, when an FIR was registered with the women police station on May 31 following submission of TISS report.
