Liverpool interested in signings Lorenzo Insigne from Napoli, Manchester City join the race to sign Frenkie De Jong

FOX SPORTS

AN Italian forward tore Liverpool’s defenders to shreds in the Champions League and now the Reds are keen on bringing him to Anfield.

Staying in the England’s north west and a bumper new $691,000-a-week deal wasn’t enough to tie down David De Gea – and that’s attracted a lot of attention from some of Europe’s best.

All that and more in another edition of Rumour Mill!

Liverpool are reportedly interested in Napoli striker Lorenzo Insigne.

The in-form Italian already has six Serie A goals this season after a lightning start.

And Rai Sport claim the Reds are plotting an approach as Jurgen Klopp looks to add more firepower.

The Game AFL 2024

Insigne scored the last-gasp winner which sent Liverpool home empty-handed from their Champions League trip to Napoli.

The pacey front man was a constant problem for the Reds defence and deservedly found the net.

He left Trent Alexander-Arnold for dead before firing wide early in the first-half and nutmegged Naby Keita to create another chance soon later.

Insigne has racked up 360 appearances in Naples - scoring 116 times - and is currently enjoying his most prolific campaign.

PSG TARGET STALLING UTD SHOT STOPPER

Manchester United star David De Gea is wanted by Paris Saint-Germain... with the Spaniard yet to sign a new contract at Old Trafford.

De Gea, 27, has been offered a five-year, $691,000-a-week deal - including various bonuses - but has yet to put pen to paper on the agreement.

The contract impasse has alerted the attention of Ligue 1 giants PSG who are thought to be monitoring the saga closely, according to The Mail.

United are willing to use their option to extend De Gea’s contract six months early should he still not have signed by January.

But it would leave Europe’s elite believing they could get the Spain No1 in the summer.

ATLETICO STAR ON GUNNERS’ RADAR

Arsenal are monitoring Atletico Madrid star Thomas Partey, according to reports.

The 25-year-old midfielder moved to Madrid as a teenager from Ghana in 2011 and has worked his way through the ranks at the Wanda Metropolitano.

Partey was hugely influential last season making 50 appearances for Los Rojiblancos as they beat the Gunners on the way to winning the Europa League.

But it has been a different story for the Ghana international this term as he has struggled for game time started just two La Liga games.

And with Atletico boss Diego Simeone plotting a January swoop for Juventus midfielder Rodrigo Bentancur, Partey’s opportunities could be limited even further.

Ghanasoccernet claims new Gunners boss Unai Emery could hand the all-action midfielder an escape route out of Spain.

CITY JOIN RACE FOR WONDERKID

Manchester City are reportedly ready to break their transfer record to sign Ajax star Frenkie De Jong.

The 21-year-old has caught the eye with a number of impressive displays for the Dutch giants.

And now Mundo Deportivo claim Pep Guardiola has told Ajax they are willing to pay A$114million for the midfielder.

Speculation has been mounting over the starlet’s future for months after his fine campaign last season.

Barcelona and Tottenham have also been heavily linked with the ace.

But today’s article in the Spanish publication believes Premier League City are now ahead of the La Liga powerhouses.

It says the Catalans have already had one offer rejected by Ajax, as have Spurs for $81m.
