UP: 4 arrested on charges of human trafficking in Kasganj

AGRA: Sahawar police of Kasganj district on Thursday arrested four Delhi based alleged human traffickers, including two women, who came to sell a married woman.
The accused were identified as Lata Singh of Sultanpuri North West Delhi and Rajesh Kumar, Ajay and Saroj Sharma from Nagloi Nihal Vihar of Delhi.
According to Bhawar Singh, station house officer of Sahawar, "An anonymous input was received about a gang of human traffickers who had come to sell a woman from Delhi, after which we raided Sahawar railway station and caught four along with the victim identified as Abijaan Begum (29)."
"During questioning, the victim claimed, that she hailed from Fakirganj of Dhubri district of Assam.
A few months back, she came to Delhi in search of work and met Lata Singh. The victim claimed, that she was confined at Lata's home and when she resisted, Saroj threatened for dire consequences. On Wednesday, Lata and Saroj along with two men brought the victim to sell her to local pimp," said officer Bhawar Singh.
He added, "The victim was in deep trauma. We had to work really hard to console her and take her in confidence so that she can narrate her ordeal. The victim has now been sent to woman rehabilitation centre and attempts are been made to contact her family members.”
The four human traffickers were booked under the Immoral Traffic Prevention Act.
