North Bay chamber recognizes business excellence

Seven awards bestowed during Bell Excellence Awards

The North Bay & District Chamber of Commerce recognized local business excellence with its 2018 Bell Evening of Excellence, which coincided with this year’s Business Week.

“Business week isn’t only about supporting the local businesses. It’s a time to celebrate and encourage business successes,” said chair Charles Elliott in a news release.

The chamber also introduced a new memorial award this year in honour of its former secretary and manager, Glen DeVuono, who died earlier this year.

The inaugural Glen DeVuono Memorial Award for Community Builder was presented to Vic Fedeli, Nipissing MPP and former North Bay mayor.

Fedeli has been well known for his work with Nipissing University, Air Base Property Corp., and Canadore College’s Aviation Campus.
