Minister flags off train between Maharajganj and Masrakh
CHHAPRA/PATNA: Union minister of state for railways Manoj Sinha on Sunday flagged off first special passenger train (55185) on newly developed Maharajganj-Masrakh rail line. Regular passenger trains on this route are expected to run from Monday onwards.
The minister said the railways was committed to completing all pending projects in Bihar and Uttar Pradesh.
“The railways is keen to take up infrastructural projects, such as gauge conversion, track doubling, construction of new rail lines, electrification and establishment of rail factories.
The Chhapra-Allahabad track doubling work is already in progress. In fact, the work has completed between Aurihar and Varanasi stations,” Sinha said.
With the inauguration of newly laid rail line from Maharajganj in Siwan to Masrakh in Saran, the dreams of people of Masrakh has been fulfilled as this small town has got an alternative route to go to Siwan and Gopalganj in Bihar and Gorakhpur in UP.
Meanwhile, the junior railway minister also launched a slew of new projects worth over several crores at eight different stations falling under Danapur division of the East Central Railway.
At Sakaldiha station, Sinha laid the foundation of the construction of a 10-feet wide new foot over bridge (FOB). The project entails an expenditure of Rs 3.2 crore. The minister also laid the foundation of another FOB worth Rs 3 crore at Dheena station.

At Zamania, the minster inaugurated newly extended platform to accommodate 24 coaches of mail and express trains. He also inaugurated installation of coach indication display board at Dildarnagar and laid foundation of platform upgradation programme at Dildarnagar. The minister inaugurated newly built RPF barrack and a spacious waiting hall for passengers at Dildarnagar.
At Usrikhas halt, Sinha laid foundation of platform surfacing and its extension work up to 300-meter long.
At Bhadaura, he laid foundation of the construction of a three meter-wide new FOB.
