Hyderabad cop, farmer die in road accident at Kandukur

HYDERABAD: A police constable working in Hyderabad, a farmer died in a major accident at Kandukur of Rachakonda commissionerate on the city outskirts on Sunday. The mishap occurred when an overspeeding SUV rammed a tractor from the rear in an attempt to overtake the tractor and further crashed into an electric pole on the roadside.  

Constable Kumba Vinod Kumar (27) died on the spot, while and farmer Yadaiah (45) and two others died while being shifted to the hospital. Three other passengers in the car suffered severe injuries and their condition is stated to be critical, police said.

They were returning after partying at the famous Maisigandi temple. Police found that Vinod was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the accident. According to police, Vinod Kumar, working at Malakpet police station, and his five friends, and around 20 others including more than 10 women and kids went to Maisigandi temple at Kadthal in Rangareddy district, in a car and a tractor respectively on Sunday morning.

After offering prayers at the temple, the men partied and after having food, they started heading back to their place.
