HYDERABAD: The first list of BJP candidates announced a few days ago has triggered heartburn among some leaders in the districts. In Karimnagar, BJP district president Kotha Srinivas Reddy resigned from the party primary membership on Tuesday alleging his services were not being recognised. Srinivas Reddy wanted the party ticket from Husnabad.
He wrote a three page letter to the party leadership stating that he was ignored despite many years of service.

On Monday, some leaders and party workers from Boath assembly constituency in Adilabad district staged a dharna at the party headquarters over the candidate selection. BJP named Madavi Raju as its candidate from Boath in Adilabad in the first list. The leaders alleged that Raju has not worked for the party and that those who have been doing so were ignored.
"We demand that the party change his candidature," they said.
BJP sources said the party leadership has started consultations with those leaders who are unhappy with the selection of candidates and is trying its best to pacify them.
