Central team visits Titli-hit areas in Andhra Pradesh

SRIKAKULAM: Inter-ministerial Central team head and Home ministry joint secretary Sanjeev Kumar Jindal on Thursday said that they would prepare a comprehensive report on cyclone damage after visiting cyclone-affected villages in the district. 

About seven officials from various Central government departments visited several villages in Palasa, Tekkali, Ichchapuram, Vajrapukotturu, Mandasa, Meliaputti, Kotturu, Kotabommali, Santabommali and Kaviti mandals and inspected damage caused by the cyclone. Prior to visiting the cyclone-hit areas, they visited the photo exhibition on the cyclone damage at the collectorate at Srikakulam. A meeting was conducted with the officials of various departments at the collectorate where district collector K Dhananjaya Reddy explained cyclone damage.

The collector said that on the whole about Rs 2,34,503.03-crore  worth properties were damaged in the district. He also said that power supply had been restored to the  95 per cent of the cyclone-affected areas in just two weeks by deploying about 9,000 electrical workers. Similarly, 2,979 medical camps were organised in the affected areas.
