AGRA: A 37-year-old woman in Etah was allegedly gang-raped on
Karwa Chauth night by three men.
A resident of Chandanpur village of Raja Ka Rampur police jurisdiction, the victim was sent for medical examination.
Based on her written complaint handed over to local police on Sunday evening, police booked three men identified as Mukesh, Ankit and Shivkumar under IPC sections 376D (gang-rape) and 342 (punishment for wrongful confinement).
According to FIR lodged by victim, “On Saturday night after completing her
Karwa Chauth prayers, she went out to feed a cow. On her way, she was gagged from behind with a towel by three men and dragged behind a banyan tree and raped. After sexual assault, the three left and threatened her with dire consequences if she revealed the act to anyone.”
Station house officer of Raja Ka Rampur Gajendar Singh Bhatti said, “We are investigating the matter and will soon arrest the three accused.”
Meanwhile, Pilua police of Etah district arrested a youth on Monday, who allegedly raped a minor on last Friday. According to police, the accused identified as Suraj Thakur was booked under IPC sections 323 (voluntarily causing hurt), 376A (rape) and POCSO.
