The Redskins, Rams, Eagles and Texans all made significant additions on a busy NFL trade deadline day. Reviewing the day’s deals:

Ha Ha Clinton-Dix to the Redskins: Washington made a move to solidify its secondary, and they hope, its lead in the NFC East. The Redskins acquired safety Ha Ha Clinton-Dix from the Green Bay Packers in exchange for a fourth-round draft choice, according the team.

Clinton-Dix, a 2016 Pro Bowl selection, has three interceptions and a sack through seven games in 2018. He will join a Washington secondary that has been buoyed by the strong play of free safety D.J. Swearinger but has lacked veteran depth at the position. Second-year safety Montae Nicholson has been starting alongside Swearinger.

Dante Fowler Jr. to the Rams: The Rams added yet another pass rusher to a defensive front that is already one of the league’s best. The Jaguars sent former first-round pick Dante Fowler Jr. to Los Angeles in exchange for a 2019 third-round draft pick and 2020 fifth-round draft pick, according to the team.

Fowler had been stuck behind Yannick Ngakoue and Calais Campbell on the depth chart in Jacksonville, whose defense has struggled this season after leading the team to the AFC championship game in 2017.

Fowler figures to be a linebacker in the Rams’ 4-3 system, which includes Aaron Donald and Ndamukong Suh anchoring the defensive line.

Ty Montgomery to the Ravens: Green Bay teammates were not particularly happy with running back and slot receiver Ty Montgomery after he coughed up the ball on a kick return that stifled the Packers' comeback attempt against the Rams on Sunday. Now, those teammates won’t have to deal with him anymore.

The Packers traded Montgomery to Baltimore pn Tuesday for a seventh-round 2020 draft pick, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter.

Without a tremendous stable of big-name playmakers around quarterback Joe Flacco, the Ravens are still in the middle of the league in yardage and scoring.

Green Bay’s offense relies on the arm of Aaron Rodgers, and tailback Aaron Jones has emerged as the team’s primary ball carrier. The Packers also have used Randall Cobb in the backfield, further limiting Montgomery’s touches. In Baltimore, he’ll likely compete with Javorius Allen for the second-string job behind Alex Collins.

Demaryius Thomas to the Texans: After falling to 3-5 with a loss in Kansas City, the Denver Broncos look as if they’re ready to clean house. Tuesday they sent veteran wide receiver Demaryius Thomas and a seventh-round pick to the Houston Texans for a fourth- and seventh-round pick.

Houston lost Will Fuller, its second-leading receiver, to a season-ending torn ACL during Thursday night’s win over the Miami Dolphins. The Texans visit the Broncos on Sunday, adding another level of intrigue to this potential deal.

Thomas himself said there’s a “50-50″ chance that he would be traded before the deadline, so the deal was hardly surprising. “How would you feel at your job [if] your boss, whoever, said they wanted you someplace else?” he said (via the Athletic).”And you come into work every day and have to think about it? How would you feel? But I had to do it for my team, like it was normal, act like it was normal.″

Many of Thomas’s teammates posted emotional messages to him on social media. “This one brought me to tears,” wrote fellow wide receiver Emmanuel Sanders.

Tate taken: The Detroit Lions traded wide receiver Golden Tate to the Philadelphia Eagles for a third-round pick, the Eagles reported on their website.

Wide receivers make up only two of the Eagles' top six players in terms of receptions, and Tate led the Lions with 44 catches for 517 yards on 65 targets. He’s the first player in Detroit history — and just the seventh NFL player ever — with 90 or more receptions in four consecutive seasons.

Tate said his goodbye to Detroit on Twitter:

Manning, Beckham don’t move: The New York Giants are going nowhere at 1-7, but after making two trades last week, they were quiet Tuesday.

Quarterback Eli Manning has a no-trade clause in his contract, and he put to rest any talk that he would waive it, telling the New York Daily News, “I want to stay here.”

Odell Beckham Jr., the outrageously talented wide receiver, does not have a no-trade clause, but he is encumbered by a $20 million signing bonus.

“[My name] was tossed around in the offseason and I’m still here,” Beckham told the Daily News. “I don’t think I’m going anywhere. This is where I’m at. All I wanna do is be the very best that I can be when I’m on the field — and off the field, as well. So it’s really hard to think about that, but it is what it is.”

He was asked point-blank if New Jersey is where he wants to be and he replied, “This is where I’m at.”

Jenkins, Collins also stay: Cornerback Janoris Jenkins was another trade possibility for the Giants, while SNY’s Ralph Vacchiano reported that the Giants received offers for safety Landon Collins, a Pro Bowler the past two years. “I’m just playing it day-by-day,” Collins had said of the trade possibility. “I love the Giants. They love me. You never know. It’s a business. So whatever happens, happens.”

Both players stayed in New York.

Jackson reportedly asked for a trade: Tampa Bay Buccaneers wide receiver DeSean Jackson reportedly asked to be traded, but he will remain with the Bucs.

Jackson has seen his production fall off since Jameis Winston replaced Ryan Fitzpatrick after Winston returned from his three-game suspension at the start of the season. With Fitzpatrick, he caught nine passes for 275 yards and three touchdowns; overall, he has caught 23 passes for 526 yards through Week 7. Jackson may be happier to stay put after Fitzpatrick — who came off the bench Sunday and nearly engineered a comeback win — was named the Week 9 starter.

Previous moves: The Giants traded Eli Apple (to New Orleans) and Damon Harrison (to Detroit). Cleveland traded running back Carlos Hyde to Jacksonville and Oakland sent wide receiver Amari Cooper to Dallas.
