MP man gets death penalty in rape-murder case

According to the post mortem report, the victim had several injuries on her body, including private parts, and had been strangled.

A 24-YEAR-OLD man has been awarded capital punishment for raping and killing a three-year-old girl in Gauharganj in Raisen district on August 13, taking to 16 the number of death sentences handed down by different courts in Madhya Pradesh since February 28 this year.

“The way the accused has crossed limits of inhumanity while committing the crime proves that he is a danger to the entire society. He is an ulcer for society and his rehabilitation is not possible,” observed additional district judge Surekha Mishra while handing down the death penalty to Jitendra Uikey of Nayapura Sodarpur village.

The victim had gone to her grandmother’s house from where the accused lured her with the promise of offering a toffee. Her body was found the next day in a jungle.
