Man from Rajasthan shot dead in Nellore

NELLORE: Tension gripped Nellore city after three unidentified assailants opened fire and killed a 50-year-old businessman at Fathekhanpet at 11 pm on Saturday. The deceased was identified as Mahendra Singh, owner of Komal Power Tools.
The incident took place when Mahendra Singh was on the way back home after closing down his shop.
According to the Nellore Superintendent of Police (SP), Aiswarya Rastogi, the three assailants came on a bike and fired four shots at Mahendra Singh from a short distance.
Three bullets pierced into the body of Mahendra Singh. He was rushed to a private hospital where he succumbed to his injuries even after much attempts by the doctors to save his life. After the incident the police sounded high alert and special teams were swung into action to control the situation.
