PURULIA: The Purulia district magistrate has filed a police complaint against Bengal BJP leader Mukul Roy. District magistrate Alokesh Prasad Roy in his complaint to Balampur police station on Monday accused the BJP leader of making "derogatory" remarks against him at a public meeting held in the district.
The district magistrate also complained that Roy had openly led a "personal attack" against him at the meeting.
Police have initiated a case based on the complaint, slapping charges of using obscene words, defamation and criminal intimidation against the BJP leader under sections 294, 500 and 506 of Indian Penal Code.
The senior BJP leader, during his public address in Purulia, came down heavily on the administration for throwing a spanner in the party's meeting.
Roy there named district magistrate Alokesh Roy and said he would see to it that the officer didn't get a promotion.
