State Theatre New Jersey in New Brunswick will present the All Hands on Deck! Show at 3 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 11. All Hands on Deck! Show is an all-singing, all-dancing, all-American 1942 Roadshow & Radio Broadcast reproduction. Tickets range from $15 to $35. 'Let's Talk Quilts'

The Historical Society of Plainfield will host a lecture, "Let's Talk Quilts," at 7 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 10, at the Drake House Museum, 602 W. Front St., Plainfield. Sugarloaf Craft Festival

Shop handcrafted at The Sugarloaf Craft Festival which runs Friday, Nov. 9, through Sunday, Nov. 11, at the New Jersey Convention and Expo Center in Edison. The event features more than 350 American craft artists. It includes demonstrations, children’s entertainment and free painting classes along with tasty treats. Courthouse bells will toll

As part of the national "Bells of Peace" World War I remembrance program, the bell at Hunterdon County’s Historic Courthouse will toll 21 times, at 11 a.m. Sunday, commemorating the 100th Anniversary of the end of World War I and recognizing all whose lives were lost in the war

Remembering World War I 

On the 11th hour of the 11th day 100 years ago this month, the nations of the world who were engaged in World War I laid down their arms. Join the Heritage Trail Association from 2 to 4:30 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 11, as they recreate the era and commemorate the sacrifices that led to America’s emergence as a world power. Tickets are $10; $5 for ages 8 to 12; light refreshments. 'The Fighting 69th'

In honor of the 100th Anniversary of the ending of World War I, the AOH Brian Boru Division 14 of Middlesex County invites everyone to a Movie Night on Sunday, Nov. 11, at Corpus Christi Parish Hall in South River. They will be showing “The Fighting 69th,” starring James Cagney, Pat O'Brie  and George Brent. Kid’s Fun — Back In The Day

The Meadows Foundation will present Kid’s Fun — Back In The Day from 1 to 4 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 10, at the historic Van Liew-Suydam House, 280 South Middlebush Road, Somerset section of Franklin Township. Bring the whole family to learn hands-on about the toys and games that colonial children played. Open to everyone, but most appropriate for ages 5 and older. Dryden Ensemble to present recital

The Dryden Ensemble will present organist Jacob Street in an all-Bach organ recital at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 10, at Miller Chapel, on the campus of Princeton Theological Seminary, 64 Mercer St., Princeton. College Night on Nov. 15

Westfield High School will host more than 160 nationwide colleges, universities and other post-secondary institutions at its annual College Night from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 15. This event provides an opportunity for students and their parents to talk one-on-one with college representatives and gather information about their schools. Buffet dinner to benefit refugee families

Refugee Assistance Partners NJ (RAP) will host a buffet dinner fundraiser from 6 to 9 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 10. Based in the Scotch Plains area, this all-volunteer group helps refugee families who are resettled in Union County. The Buffet Dinner will include a variety of home-cooked entrées and desserts, provided by members of RAP. Representatives from RAP and from the refugee families will share information and their stories after the dinner entrées and before dessert. The dinner will be held at Willow Grove Church, 1961 Raritan Road, Scotch Plains. Tickets are $20; $10 for ages 6 to 12, and is free for children younger than 6. Charity Jewelry & Accessory Sale

A Charity Jewelry & Accessory Sale will be held at 11:30 a.m. Sunday, Nov. 11, at Trinity Episcopal Church, Sherlock Hall, 119 Forest Ave., Cranford. Featuring African jewelry and craft sale. Proceeds from the sale will go to Africa Team Ministries, a Christian ministry providing funds for orphan and refugee relief missions and evangelism in East Africa. Edison High School's Marching Band will participate in the USBands National Competition for Group IV, on Saturday, Nov. 10, at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford.

Marching band to compete Nov. 10

On Nov. 3, Edison High School's Marching Band took first place in the USBands Regional Competitions for Group IV. It competed against bands throughout the area at Old Bridge's football stadium. Edison finished with a 96.525 score., along with winning the captions for Best Visual, Best Overall Affect and Best Percussion. The Marching Eagles then competed against the top 12 schools throughout all the groups. Again, Edison finished in first place with a score of 95.875, and taking the Caption Award for Best Overall Affect.
