BHOPAL: Prime Minister Narendra Modi is likely to address about 11 rallies in the poll bound Madhya Pradesh to boost the BJP’s campaign in a state where his party is locked in a keen fight with the Congress. Party sources said Modi, BJP’s biggest crowd-puller, is likely to kick off a series of rallies in the Chambal and tribal dominated Shahdol regions from November 16.

Though the Prime Minister addressed his last meeting on September 25 during 'Karyakarta Mahakumbh' (mega workers' convention) organised in the state capital Bhopal, he had also arrived on a short visit to Indore on September 14 to meet Dawoodi Bohra community head Syedna Mufaddal Saifuddin at Saifee mosque on September 14.
After imposition of the model code of conduct for elections, Prime Minister Narendra Modi had not hit the campaign train since the Election Commission announced assembly polls on October 6. This is the PM's first visit during elections in the state.
"After Gwalior, Prime Minister Modi will address poll meetings in Chhindwara and Indore on November 18, Jhabua and Rewa on November 20, Mandsaur and Chhatarpur on November 23 besides, Vidisha and Jabalpur on November 25", senior BJP leader and Rajya Sabha member, Prabhat Jha told TOI.
The BJP has made elaborate arrangements for the Prime Minister's visit and making all out efforts to retain power for the fourth time in the state.
The BJP chief Amit Shah will also head to Madhya Pradesh, where he is expected to make multiple visits over the next few days to addressing poll campaign. According to official reports, Shah will begin his seven-day state tour from Indore on November 15 where he will address rallies and participate in road shows. The BJP president will also visit Barwani, Shajapur, Badnagar (Ujjain) during his daylong visit to Indore.

On November 16, Shah will reach Khajuraho to address public meetings in Tikamgarh, Sagar, Damoh and then come back to Khajurajo. The BJP chief will continue his poll campaign on November 18 where he is schedule to reach Singrauli at around noon. Shah will address rallies in Umaria, Ghurhat, Devtalab and also participate in a road show in Maihar.
The BJP chief will continue his poll tour on November 19, 23 and 24. He will reach Narsinghpur on November 19 and address rallies in Betul, Khategaon (Dewas) and two constituencies of Bhopal district - Bhopal North and Narela.
On November 23, Shah will launch his poll campaign in Jabalpur and address rallies in Lakhnadaun, Chhindwara, Balaghat and Sehora (Jabalpur). On the last day, November 24, the BJP chief will reach Gwalior to address the public in Ashoknagar. Here he will also participate in roadshows. Shah will tour Narvar (Karera), Bhind, Morena of Chambal regions.
On the last day of his poll campaign, Shah will address public meetings in Neemuch, Kukshi (Dhar) and Sanver (Indore). He will also participate in a roadshow in Ratlam during the day, said BJP state chief Rakesh Singh.
