Patna: In two separate incidents, altogether Rs 25.6 lakh was looted by bike-borne armed criminals from employees of a gas agency and fuel pump respectively at Hajipur in Vaishali and Pirpaiti in Bhagalpur on Monday.
In the first incident, four unidentified criminals looted Rs 9.4 lakh after shooting a private gas agency employee at Adalbari under Town police station area of Hajipur at around 10am.

Town police station SHO Om Prakash said the injured employee, identified as Baliram Rai (45), received bullet injury on his waist.
“Rai with his colleague Braj Kishore (26) left the agency on a bike and had hardly travelled 50 meters when four criminals on two separate bikes intercepted them and looted the money,” he said. He said criminals were already waiting for the staff on the road.
“The criminals blocked road and kicked bike on which employees were travelling due to which they fell down. Rai resisted loot after which one of the criminals shot him. A minor scuffle also took place between Kishore and criminals in which he also fell down and received injury his right hand,” Prakash said adding no empty cartridge was recovered from spot.
He said the employees were going to deposit the money in an SBI branch which takes hardly a minute to reach on bike from the gas agency.

“We are trying to gather CCTV footage of the incident to get a clue of the criminals,” Prakash said.
He said Rai was shifted to a private hospital at Patna and raids were on to nab the accused.
Meanwhile, at Pirpaiti, Rs 16.2 lakh was looted from Vikash Kumar and Anand Kumar, both employees of Kiran fuel pump, when they were going to deposit the money into a bank.
Kahalgaon SDPO Dilnawaz Ahmed said two criminals on a bike came from behind and pushed the duo.
