Berketex Bride has closed all of its branches with immediate effect.

The wedding dress retailer first revealed signs of distress on Hallowe’en when the company abruptly closed its Newcastle branch, leaving customers with no information about how to collect their dresses.

Bailiffs appeared at the store and took possession of the dresses, which are soon to be auctioned off.

Now it has been revealed that all of the company’s 14 shops and two concessions have been closed.

Insolvency practitioners Wilson Field confirmed the collapse of the company.

In a statement Wilson Field said: “This company has ceased to trade with immediate effect. This shop, and all other outlets trading as Berketex Bride, will be closed from 13 November 2018 and will not re-open.
