The Chief Minister undertook a whirlwind tour in the erstwhile Warangal district and addressed four public meetings at Narasmpet, Mahabubabad, Dornakal and Jangaon Assembly constituencies here on Friday. He came seeking public support in the upcoming elections for the party candidates P. Sudarshan Reddy, B. Shankar Naik, D. S. Redya Naik and M. Yadagiri Reddy respectively.

Mr. KCR, during the meetings, urged the people to make informed choices in the polls. Right from sorting out power supply issues, the State government has enhanced the salaries of Anganwadi teachers, VAOs and enhanced pensions to all sections, he said.

The TRS president said the people of Telangana struggled to end the domination of Andhra and chased away Mr. Chandrababu Naidu. But the Congress leaders were again trying to bring him into the State. “If you vote for them, they will make us slaves again. They cannot act on their own. The Congress leaders will depend on New Delhi or Amaravathi for everything. They cannot do justice to the people of Telangana,” he said.

When the then Chief Minister N. Kiran Kumar Reddy said in Assembly that he would not give a single rupee to Telangana, the same Telangana Congress leaders did not protest or object to that remark. It was the TRS MLAs who protested. Now the Congress leaders are bringing N. Chandrababu Naidu back to Telangana though he wrote several letters obstructing irrigation projects in our State.Deputy Chief Minister Kadiam Srihari and MP A. Sitaram Naik and others accompanied the Chief Minister.

‘Vote- a decisive weapon’

Nalgonda Staff Reporter writes:

Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao on Friday urged people to discern the difference between the four-year three-month governance by the Telangana Rashtra Samithi and the 58-year-old regime of the Congress and Telugu Desam Party, before exercising their vote on December 7. Advocating the power of vote, the Chief Minister said it was the most decisive weapon in the hands of a citizen in a democracy, and requested the large gatherings, “Don’t go by what several people say during poll campaigns, included me. When you go back, sit and discuss as informed individuals and arrive at a decision.”

Addressing Praja Ashirwada Sabha in Suryapet and later at Thungathurthy in the district, Mr. Rao spoke for 47 minutes explaining what the TRS government had achieved, the former governments did and questioning the grand alliance or People’s Front. Recognising the efforts of Energy Minister G. Jagadish Reddy, MLA nominee for Suryapet, the TRS president said the 24-hour power supply to farmers in Telangana was a unique achievement in the country. “The several schemes launched are before you,” he said, adding waters through Kaleswaram Lift Irrigation Scheme would be delivered here by June next year.

Mr. Rao was keen on repeating, “Do we need Chandrababu Naidu in Telangana?”

Launching attack on Congress leadership from Telangana in the united State, the TRS supremo said the leaders “lacked courage and are spineless”. KCR assured the constituency’s nominee Gadari Kishore Kumar and the people, that two of the tanks here would be converted into reservoirs of 0.5tmc and 3.5 tmc capacities.

In Suryapet, Mr. Rao said road infrastructure, an industrial park and automobile nagar and works for a dry port will be planned. “I will not rest till all projects are completed, to provide irrigation for one crore acres in Telangana,” he concluded.
