1,600 students participate in 'Engineering Clinics 2019' at VIT Amaravati

As many as 1,600 Engineering students of Vellore Institute of Technology, AP Chapter, showcased their projects at the 'Engineering Clinics 2019', an innovation exhibition, on Friday, on their campus in Amaravati.

VIJAYAWADA: As many as 1,600 Engineering students of Vellore Institute of Technology, AP Chapter, showcased their projects at the 'Engineering Clinics 2019', an innovation exhibition, on Friday, on their campus in Amaravati.
Third Eye for the Blind project, made for the visually impaired people to navigate with speed, bagged the first prize among the first-year Engineering students' project.
A band with inserted device detects the nearby obstacles using the help of ultrasonic waves and notifies the user with buzzer sound or vibration, explained Akhil Pasumarthi and team.
The Cloud Generator project, which bagged the first prize at the finals by providing a solution for cleaning our oceans of oil and the cleaned water is used to create clouds."An innovative solution is used to extract the oil from water and a jet spray is used to spray the water into the air which evaporates due to the temperature of the Sun. Each buoy consists of an apparatus along with a GPS module to track its movement and also sends data to the main center." said Isha Patro and her team.
More than 280 projects and prototypes were developed by the students for the two-day event. Projects were developed on two themes, Reverse Engineering and Arduino technologies, said the D Sudhakar, vice chancellor of the institute. He added that the concept of engineering clinics is drawn from the idea that engineers to require a place to get the hands-on expertise of knowledge gained from the courses studied in class.
