NEW DELHI: "We are all evil... forgive me." This is a portion of a "suicide note" scrawled on the wall of a room in south Delhi's Chhatarpur, where a 25-year-old graphic designer killed his former live-in partner before hanging himself on Monday.
The designer, Avishek Mondal, is believed to have entered the room of his former partner, Ayushna, 25, late Monday morning, just before she was to leave for work.
The scribbles on the wall suggest he wanted to reunite with her, police said. He slit her throat when she refused.
The deaths were discovered in the evening when Ayushna's roommate returned home.
A day after the bodies were on the first floor room of Suman Colony in Chhatarpur, the forensic team discovered the knife that was allegedly used by Mondal to kill Ayushna, who too was a graphic designer.
Friends of Ayushna, the graphic designer who was killed in her room by her former boyfriend, said the man had a history of violence.
One of her friends said Ayushna and Avishek Mondal parted ways two months ago. Mondal, who was working as a graphic designer, then left Delhi and went back to Kolkata.
The victim's friend claimed Ayushna had earlier complained about Avishek's violent antics and said he would get possessive and angry if she met any other man. Even after they broke-up, he continued to try to persuade her to reunite with her.

"He had threatened to kill himself earlier and used to behave insanely at times but we never thought he would do something like this. He had not met her for the past two months but on Monday suddenly showed up at the door and murdered her," the friend said.
The partly incoherent note on the wall read: "She was not picking up my calls, not replying to my messages... I can't take it anymore... she used to live with me but now don't want to talk to me... I have turned suicidal and killed her... I also don't want to live anymore and ending my life... we are all evil... no infinity... suicide is the last resort of depression... forgive me."
Sources close to the family said that Ayushna was to leave for her office and her roommate had already gone for her job when Mondal showed up at the door. He locked the door and the two had an argument during which he slashed her throat.
Investigating officers said Mondal had been texting Ayushna for some time and did not tell her that he had returned to Delhi on Saturday. Cops said they were still probing where he stayed for the first two days as he only went to the woman's house around 10am on Monday.
The note was written on the wall as well as a mirror allegedly before Mondal hanged himself from the ceiling fan in the same room.
The preliminary forensic examination has revealed that there was no other entry in the room apart from Mondal and the fingerprint marks on the knife used to kill Ayushna matches with that of her ex-boyfriend.
Neighbours at the colony also claimed that they did not hear any noise from the room when the man was there and only got to know when the victim's roommate came in the evening and found the door locked from inside.
On Tuesday, Ayushna's body was handed over to her family following an autopsy. The victim is survived by her parents, brother and a sister, who flew in from Kolkata after receiving the news. Cops said that despite being contacted, Mondal's family is yet to reach the city and his body is being preserved in the mortuary.
DCP (south) Vijay Kumar said that a case of murder has been registered to probe the woman's death while inquest proceedings under section 174 of the CrPC have been initiated.
