Priyanka-Nick Sangeet: Nita Ambani cheers, Isha-Parineeti shake a leg, Joe-Sophie dedicate special performance

NEW DELHI: A day after sharing pictures from her Mehendi, Priyanka Chopra shared a video and several pictures from the Sangeet ceremony on Instagram with a heartfelt message about how the families competed to perform and came together as one in the end.

Sharing a series of pictures from Sangeet ceremony, the 'Fashion' star said that the function started off as a fierce song and dance competition and ended with a huge celebration of love.

It all began as a fierce song & dance competition between the families but ended, as always, as a huge celebration of love. Nick and I were looking forward to the Sangeet (musical evening), another pre wedding ritual.. and to see what each side had put together. And what a performance it was. Each family telling our stories through song and dance, filled with lots of laughter and love. We were both filled with gratitude for the effort, the love and the laughter and will carry the memories of this special evening for the rest of our lives. RIL Chairman Mukesh Ambani and wife were seen enjoying the Sangeet function. Isha Ambani joined the bride and Parineeti Chopra for a dance at the party.


The new bride dazzled in an fully hand embroidered gold and silver saree by Abu Jani Sandeep Khosla (AJSK), and famous make-up artist Mickey Contractor ensured she looked stunning.

The groom looked dapper in open midnight blue sherwani with silk thread detailing.


AJSK, who was also in charge of the decor and design, installed millions of fairy lights and mirrors that lit up the Umaid Bhawan grounds.


All the guests, including Nick's mother Denise and brother Joe's fiancee, "Game of Thrones" star Sophie Turner, opted for Indian attires for the function.

In a closely guarded ceremony, the 36-year-old actress and American singer Nick Jonas said 'I do' on Saturday in a Christain wedding at the Umaid Bhawan Palace in Jodhpur.


They were said to have a wedding as per Hindu rituals on Sunday, but there hasn't been any confirmation on that.

Right before the Mehendi ceremony, the Jonases and Chopras held a friend cricket match - Team Bride Vs Team Groom.

For the Mehendi, Chopra wore a multi-hued organdy lehenga by designer duo Abu Jani and Sandeep Khosla and Jonas wore label's aqua bakhiya kurta. The bride completed her look with her hair worn in a soft bun decorated with roses.
