Tour de France winner Mr Thomas paid £2.5million for the six-bedroom south Wales country home
And their six-bedroom St Tewdrics House, near Chepstow, south Wales, won the Best New Business at the Welsh National Wedding Awards.
Mr Thomas, who paid £2.5million for the house, said: 'When we were looking for a venue for our wedding we didn't want it in a hotel, we wanted somewhere which would be just for our guests.
'That's when we thought of buying a place, have our wedding there and then turn it into a business afterwards.
'We came across this place and instantly thought "wow" and we just fell in love with it.'
Because the couple were based in Monaco, they decided to hand day-to-day duties to Mrs Thomas' parents - Eifion and Beth Thomas.

The St Tewdrics website describes the venue as a 'beautiful villa... available as an exclusive use wedding venue in which you can create your perfect wedding day and create lifelong memories'
Eifion Thomas said: 'We knew the venue was really special for Sara and Geraint, so when they purchased St Tewdrics House and asked if we would run it, we happily said yes.
'It was a really exciting opportunity to work as a family and it's one of the best things about the job.
'We're at a really exciting stage now seeing the business grow, having just won a national award for being the new wedding business of the year. We're looking forward to 2019 and beyond.'
A statement on the St Tewdrics website says: 'Approached by a tree-lined driveway and with views over the Severn estuary, this beautiful villa is available as an exclusive use wedding venue in which you can create your perfect wedding day and create lifelong memories.'
