A paranormal investigator from Burnbank is celebrating after scooping a top award.

David Barrett says he became fascinated in the paranormal at an early age, and has continued to study in the field over the years.

As reported in the Advertiser, he was part of the Project Paranormal team which took part in a televised investigation at the Applebank Inn in Larkhall.

The show rocketed into the top 10 most watched programmes on the Showcase channel when it aired, with the local episode focusing on the legend of the Black Lady of Larkhall.

David recently visited the Paraforce event in Holland after being invited to hold a lecture as a guest speaker.

And he was delighted to scoop two awards on his trip – one for best lecture and the other for Paranormal Researcher Male 2018.

David said: “I enjoyed going over to Holland as guest speaker as I live and breathe paranormal 24/7. It felt good being recognised for the work I put in to the paranormal field.

“It was also great networking with fellow investigators from around the world and finding out how they work. It was a good learning curve watching others and chatting about our experiences.”

David’s other adventures in the field have taken him to diverse locations such as Scotland’s Secret Bunker, Inveraray Jail and Carnsalloch House in Scotland; Newsham Park Hospital, The National Emergency Services Museum and Shrieve’s House in England; Leap Castle in Ireland and Castle Bran, aka Dracula’s Castle in Transylvania.

Since the Project Paranormal show aired, he worked on a book, My Life As A Scottish Paranormal Investigator, which was released through Amazon on Kindle and paperback.
