The precise total poll percentage in the Telangana State Assembly elections held on Friday is 73.2%. Women voter turnout was better with 73.88% than that of men voters at 72.54%.

Chief Electoral Officer Rajat Kumar released the district-wise voter turnout figures on Saturday night. Yadadri Bhongiri registered the highest polling percentage of 90.95%, followed by Warangal Rural at 89. 68%, Janagaon - 87.39%, Nalgonda and Suryapet districts registered 86.82 and 86.63% respectively.

Hyderabad district recorded lowest voter turnout at 48.89%, followed by Medchal-Malkajgiri district at 55.85% and Ranga Reddy at 61.29%.

Among Assembly constituencies, Madhira registered highest voter turnout at 91.65%, Alair - 91.33, Palair at 90.99% and Narsampet in Warangal Rural at 90.06%.

Charminar registered lowest polling percentage of 40.18%, Yakutpura - 41.24% , Malakpet - 42.74%.

The Returning Officers of all the 119 Assembly constituencies have reported that there have been no untoward incidents in the polling process thus ruling out the need for a re-poll in any constituency. Though there was a late evening demand for a re-poll in some polling stations in Karwan constituency citing some missing documents, it was later clarified as communication gap.

Though it is a piece of good news to the office of CEO and their officers and staff that the polling was completed peacefully, their work will not be over until and unless they submit the scrutiny reports sent by the Returning Officers to the Election Commission.
