Police: Man driving stolen car leads officers on chase, crashes in Morena area
A man who police said was driving a stolen car led officers on a brief chase Monday afternoon that ended in a crash in the Morena area.
An officer tried to pull over the Toyota sedan around 12:30 p.m. on Hotel Circle Drive but the driver took off, said San Diego police spokesman Billy Hernandez.
A short time later, the vehicle crashed on Tecolote Road near West Morena Boulevard, flipping onto its roof.
The driver and a passenger were detained. The driver was transported to a local hospital with minor injuries,
Hernandez said the vehicle had been reported stolen Saturday in Pacific Beach.
