Dr. Elikem Tamaklo, Managing Director, Nyaho Medical Centre has been named the All Africa Young Business Leader of the Year at the 8th edition of the All Africa Business Leaders Awards (AABLA) organized in partnership with CNBC Africa in Johannesburg, SA.

Emerging as a finalist from West Africa, Dr. Elikem Tamaklo beat nine (9) other young business finalists from West, East and South Africa to clinch the title at Africa’s Most Respected Business Awards at an executive gala dinner held on November 29, 2018 at the Sandton Convention Centre, Johannesburg, SA.

The All Africa Business Leaders Awards (AABLA™) in partnership with CNBC Africa, honours remarkable leadership and game changers of business on the continent for their commitment to excellence, developing best practices and innovative strategies.

The awards event distinguishes Leaders who have contributed and shaped the African economy and are visionaries behind outstanding businesses.

According to the judges committee of the AABLA, the guiding principle was selecting individuals who have shown leadership competences, continued commitment to excellence, developing best practices, innovative strategies and have demonstrated that they are game changers of business in Africa.

The team of judges evaluated hundreds of applications, narrowing down to nominees in the categories of Business Leader of the Year, Entrepreneur of the Year, Young Business Leader of the Year, Business Woman of the Year, Company of the year, Innovator of the Year, Industrialist of the Year, Philanthropist of the Year and the Lifetime Achievement Award.

Elated about his win, Dr. Elikem Tamaklo attributed the award to the amazing team at Nyaho Medical Centre and shared “…with hard work, courage, humility and a great team, we can transform the world, one problem at a time.”

Dr. Elikem Tamaklo’s win epitomizes the core values he stands for as a leader; commitment, continuous learning and improvement, and teamwork.

In the 47-year history of the hospital, Nyaho Medical Centre has chalked a number of “firsts” in best practice initiatives within private healthcare – top on the list being the first private facility in Ghana to run Group Medical Practice where Specialists and General Practitioners work with a team approach to achieve positive outcomes for the patient.
