Criminals loot Rs 20.6L from Bhagalpur ATM
BHAGALPUR: Criminals looted about Rs 20.6 lakh after cutting open an ATM of SBI with the help of a gas-cutting machine at Mirjanhat locality under Mojahidpur police station area on Monday night. They also made an abortive bid to cut open yet another ATM.
The incidents came to light on Tuesday morning. According to police sources, criminals before cutting open the ATM machine with the help of gas cutters had cut the CCTV wires so that they are not caught in the camera.
Police sources said the criminals had also downed the ATM shutters before cutting the cash machine/vault so that no one can see them.The criminals also tried to cut open an ATM of Bank of India at Habibpur Chowk under Habibpur police station.

Confirming the cash loot, city DSP Rajvansh Singh said, “We are trying to retrieve the CCTV footage to identify the criminals. It appears that the same gang was involved in both the incidents. While Rs 20.6 lakh was looted from the SBI ATM, no cash was looted from the BoI ATM.”
