UP: SC-ST panel issues notice to Etah police

AGRA: A day after TOI reported about a Dalit bridegroom who was allegedly forced to get down from horse and made to walk to the wedding venue, Uttar Pradesh ST&SC commission issued notice to Etah police asking them to investigate the incident and take legal action against those involved. The panel has also asked the police also maintain law and order in the village.
Superintendent of police (crime) O P Singh said, "A letter from state ST&SC commission chairperson Brij Lal, who is former DGP of UP, has been received.
Since two FIRs have already been lodged by men belonging to both Dalit and Thakur castes, our team is probing the matter."
