PUNE: The National Institute of Open Schooling on Saturday declared Standard X and XII examinations result, held in October-November.
Out of the 1,18,806 students who appeared for the Standard X board examination, 46,627 (39.25%) passed while out of the 1,74,352 students who appeared for the Std XII exam, 55,416 (31.78%) passed.
Saumya Rajan, the director of the NIOS Regional Office Pune, said the students have flexibility in choices.
“There has been a steady increase in the number of students opting for NIOS. The students can choose from a variety of subjects. There are a lot of options in vocational education too.”
The results declared on Saturday were for the public examination. The students can also give examinations on demand for specific subjects in the NIOS.
“After enrolling with the NIOS, the students have to compulsorily take up 30 contact lectures. The students choose the school which is closest to them and then appear for lectures which are generally organized on holidays or weekends. In Pune, we have over 100 study centres,” Rajan said.
The students can view and download the results of the secondary and senior secondary course from the NIOS website www.nios.ac.in and https://results.nios.ac.in. The next board examination will be organized by the NIOS during March-April, 2019. The students can submit their examination fee online for the same by December 31. “The students will get their original mark sheets within a month from their respective study centres,” Rajan added.
