Delhi BJP leader says will be on hunger strike till Kamal Nath is replaced as CM

New Delhi: A Delhi BJP leader alleged that the Congress leader was involved in the anti-Sikh riots and sat on an indefinite hunger strike against Kamal Nath after being nominated for the Chief Minister’s post in Madhya Pradesh.

Congress leader and nine-time Chhindwara Lok Sabha MP Kamal Nath was on Monday sworn in as the 18th Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh. He was administered the oath of office and secrecy by Governor Anandiben Patel at the Jamboree Maidan in Bhopal.

The swearing-in ceremony was attended by Congress chief Rahul Gandhi, former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, Andhra Pradesh Chief N Chandrababu Naidu, former Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Tejashwi Yadav, and a host of other opposition leaders. Two prominent opposition leaders-Akhilesh Yadav and Mayawati-were conspicuous by their absence.

Tajinder Pal Singh Bagga started his hunger strike at Tilak Nagar in west Delhi where several families affected in the 1984 anti-Sikh riots live.

“I am sitting on an indefinite hunger strike against Rahul Gandhi’s decision to nominate him as CM. He (Kamal Nath) is the same person who was involved in the riots against Sikhs in Delhi,” stated Mr Bagga while Protesting the Congress’ move in selecting Kamal Nath for the chief minister’s post.

He asserted that his hunger strike will continue till Kamal Nath is replaced by someone else as the Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh.
