Reader letter: Spitfires trading DiPietro was worst trade in team history
Article content
The worst trade in the history of the Windsor Spitfires took place recently. Goalie Michael DiPietro being traded was a huge injustice. I understand the world of junior hockey, things happen, but this trade should not have.
Michael, in addition to being the face of the franchise, was a great talent, a local kid who represented his team with pride and integrity. General Manager Warren Rychel has made many terrific deals, as evidenced by their illustrious history — but Michael should have been a Spitfire till the end.
