UP: Two sisters shot in sleep inside their house in Etawah

Unidentified assailants shot dead two sisters, aged 42 and 18, in sleep in, inside their house in Friends colony area of Etawah on the intervening night of Wednesday and Thursday.

KANPUR: Unidentified assailants shot dead two sisters, aged 42 and 18, in sleep inside their house in the Friends Colony area of UP's Etawah on the intervening night of Wednesday and Thursday.
The police rushed to the spot and shifted the bodies to mortuary for post-mortem examination before initiating a probe in this regard.
The victims - identified as Sunita and her younger sister Lakshmi, daughters of Sushila Rajput of Friends colony - were sleeping in separate rooms of the double storey-house when they were shot dead, police said.

"We have recovered the bullet-riddled bodies of the two sisters from the spot. As per their family members, Sunita had gone to sleep on the first floor of the house while her younger sister Lakshmi on the ground floor. However, the next morning, their bodies with serious bullet wounds were found lying in a pool of blood from their rooms," said SSP Etawah Ashok Tripathi.
The police registered an FIR under Section 302 of the IPC against unidentified persons on the complaint of the victims' family members.
The victims were shot in their temple, said SSP further. "A forensic team reached the spot, and after conducting extensive investigation, collected some vital evidences from the spot. Later, their bodies were dispatched to mortuary for autopsy and investigations are continuing for an early breakthrough," he added.
The elder daughter of Sushila, Sunita was married, and had come to attend `Devi- Jagran' on December 21. Tripathi added, "Following leads provided by family members, we have taken two village persons into custody and are questioning them."
