When you think of Spain it is generally their football and great climate that comes to mind, not their automotive culture.

After the end of WWII, car making took off in most European countries, but Spain was a relative latecomer. The company produced models under the Fiat brand due to license restrictions.

European flair

The Ibiza, aptly named after the Spanish city, makes use of a 1.2 litre 4-cylinder engine from Porsche with a total power output of 52kW. It might not sound like much but its light chassis makes for enjoyable driving.

Seat has gone from strength to strength over the years also forming part of the Volkswagen Group.

The car is unique in its own way with the spare wheel located in the engine bay. While the car may not look like much sharing similar design cues with that of a VW Golf MK2, it is still considered a Spanish classic.
