Accidents killed 300 in Saran district last year: Official

CHHAPRA: At least 300 people lost their lives in 425 road accidents in Saran district last year. Of these, most victims were bikers, as per a recent estimate of the district transport office.
Saran SP Har Kishore Rai blamed negligence of traffic rules and reckless driving for the road accidents.
“The use of cellphones while driving mostly leads to accidents involving four-wheelers.We have identified eight black spots on national and state highways and asked people to drive safely,” the SP said.
According to district transport officer Jai Prakash Narayan, campaigns are also being organized to raise awareness among people.
